The first indoor butterfly aviary in a mall comes to HarbourFront Centre this CNY and what a blast Ale had during our visit! Okay, so she was a little apprehensive of the flying creatures initially but thanks to the wonderful staff in the aviary - who were not only patient but shared loads of butterfly trivia with Ale - she had butterflies landing on her palms.
If you are lucky, you may even witness the emergence of a butterfly from its chrysalis. It wasn't our lucky day but Ale did cradle a new butterfly and helped it on its first flight! Lovely experience which explained why she was extremely reluctant to leave the aviary when it was time to go.
Fortunately, not only can kids enjoy close encounters with butterflies such as the “Common Rose” - voted as Singapore’s National Butterfly- in the aviary, there are interactive activities and craft workshops too.
